Project Overview
Project Overview
I designed an intuitive in-ride interface for a ZOOX vehicle, an Amazon subsidiary focused on developing autonomous vehicles for mobility services. This interface aims to provide passengers with a seamless interaction experience, significantly enhancing their journey.

Research
Research
I conducted extensive research by exploring the ZOOX website, focusing on their vision for autonomous vehicles and the brand's distinctive color scheme. The website conveyed a strong message about ZOOX’s commitment to providing a luxurious, smooth, and relaxing ride. With this in mind, I aimed to design an interface that enhances this in-ride experience, prioritizing simplicity and serenity while incorporating a modern aesthetic. Additionally, I analyzed user experience design trends from other luxury automotive brands to ensure that my interface reflects the sophistication and innovation expected in this market.

Design Rationale
Design Rationale
My primary goal was to create an engaging and multifaceted experience for users during their ride, ensuring they have a range of entertaining and productive options at their fingertips. I envisioned a system that not only keeps passengers occupied but also empowers them to maintain control of the vehicle. To kick off this process, I meticulously outlined a series of functional capabilities that could be seamlessly integrated into the touch screen display.
These features aim to balance entertainment and vehicle management, allowing users to customize their experience based on their preferences. From multimedia options to navigation tools and real-time vehicle diagnostics, each feature is designed to enhance the journey while ensuring safety and ease of use. By prioritizing user autonomy, the interface will provide intuitive controls, enabling passengers to effortlessly switch between activities and manage their ride, all while enjoying a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.
Welcome Screen: allows the vehicle to identify which rider is currently in the vehicle
Landmarks Feature: allows the user to see any tourist attractions, restaurants, parks, etc and can navigate to landmarks
Entertainment Feature: the user can control entertainment on the interface while they are enjoying their ride including music
Temperature Control: user can control digital thermostat which will report the actual temperature of the car and the temperature it is reaching the user can switch from AC to Heat or vice versa
Trip Progress: user can see the real-time trip progress using a GPS map they can see the arrival/departure time
ZOOX POV: in the trip section the user can see the vehicle’s POV using ZOOX’s cameras.
I created two different moodboards for two separate design concepts I was considering for this interface.

Moodboards
Moodboards
I decided to move forward with the mellow and simplistic moodboard for this project, because it better encapsulates ZOOX product. However, for a night-mode the vibrant and gradient moodboard could be implemented instead.
